Hosting is what is required to put your website on the World Wide Web. It basically refers to the space you will use on the web to 'host' your site. You can find free hosting on-line but you're usually restricted to the domain name you'll be able to use with this hosting and there's often annoying banner advertisements; that you just can't block, as well as other annoying features.
mwoo designs use external providers to host your site and this usually costs around £25 a year (depending on how much web space you need). With hosting and domain name (see below) combined you can set up your own email accounts e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com

A Domain Name is just a fancy name for a web address e.g. www.mwoo.co.uk is mwoo designs domain name. You have to purcahase these names (be aware that the one you really want might not be available).
You have to purchase domain names off of external providers such as easyspace.co.uk. Depending on the domain extension you choose e.g. .com, .co.uk, .tv etc. you may be required to pay a higher/lower fee. .co.uk's are usually about £7 for two years. With a domain name and hosting (see above) combined you can set up your own email accounts e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com |
